Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a bright future ahead at Stamford Bridge.
There's no shortage of talent in the Premier League, and that extends to the youth ranks of each of the clubs currently in England's top flight. From phenoms beginning to break into senior team starting lineups to promising talents quickly climbing youth systems, there are rising stars making waves throughout the ranks.
For this exercise, I set out to identify the top prospect at each Prem club. With the term "prospects" taking on a great many definitions, for this article we've defined it as players age 19 or younger who either have yet to break into — or fully establish themselves within — their club's senior team (generally speaking, three or fewer Prem starts with the senior team, though some players on our list exceed this due to first-team injuries opening the door). Thus, some players on our list have started to pop up on the Prem radar while others are a ways away from becoming known commodities.
Parallel to the lopsided balance of talent that exists among the Prem's top clubs and those near the bottom of the table, there's a sizeable talent gap among clubs in the prospect ranks. Here's a look at the top prospects at each Prem club (listed in alphabetical order by club).
